Buckingham is seeking someone who is experienced, knowledgable, and proficient in fund and investment vehicles’, internal and external financial reporting, and budgeting and forecasting. The successful candidate will also be able to assist in property valuations, treasury management, internal controls, lender compliance, audit and tax return oversight, and other general functions. As a member of our skilled Buckingham team, the Investment Accountant will be able to provide knowledge in investments, financial reporting, and capital markets.

The qualified candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or MBA is a plus
  • 3+ years of public accounting or private equity fund accounting experience working at a Private Equity Fund Manager, Alternative Investment Manager, Fund Administrator, and/or other financial institutions with relevant knowledge and experience in fair value accounting
  • Ability to identify and resolve/escalate complex problems
  • Strong mathematical abilities and advanced logic to perform relevant statistical analysis and calculations
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • Financial and regulatory knowledge to ensure that investments, taxes and other financial reports are in compliance with relevant regulations


As Investment Accountant, you will manage accounting and financial reporting processes for multiple entities, including oversight of the external fund administrator, and assist in the preparation of valuation materials and assist in monitoring of valuation procedures.

This role will prepare budgets for each fund and work with the property and asset management teams to forecast income, cash flow, liquidity, and other financial information. In this role, you will prepare information for internal stakeholders when necessary, manage annual financial statement audits and oversee tax return preparation, and assist the VP, Finance with any ad hoc investor reporting, lender reporting, compliance certificates, and other ad hoc 3rd party reporting requested. The Investment Accountant will understand the underlying agreements of each venture, including detailed knowledge of partnership expenses, fees, and capital commitments. As the Investment Accountant, you will also review reporting and information to clients and investors while ensuring accuracy, and assist with ad hoc analyses and investor requests.
