Overview

Principal Objective

The Investment Analyst Intern works with the Business Intelligence Group as well as their respective teams to support departmental activities assigned including market and demographic research, presentation materials, due diligence, initial underwriting, and Buckingham Fund documentation. Qualifications

Training/Education

  • Must be pursuing a college degree in Finance or Commercial Real Estate.
  • Knowledge of Commercial Real Estate Market Research Software is a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable private transportation.
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA or above.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions           

  • Conduct market research, as assigned, for new developments, potential acquisitions, and projects under construction.
  • Provide research, analysis, and reporting for asset management for projects assigned.
  • Effectively collaborate with in-house property management leadership to evaluate achievable rental levels, expense comparable, and expense estimates for development opportunities being considered.
  • Develop initial Proformas for new acquisition and development opportunities to include conceptual financial analysis, feasibility, and modeling.
  • Analyze target markets as assigned, as well as development and acquisition opportunities.
  • Prepare comprehensive presentation materials, as assigned, that include exhibits of acquisition and development merits, demographic analysis, market analysis and competitive product evaluation suitable for approval by supervisors.
  • Become knowledgeable with costs associated with real estate development, including physical construction costs, site development costs, pre-development costs and estimates through collaboration with Develop Manager and Preconstruction estimate submittals.
  • Research, analyze, and make recommendations as needed regarding real estate development projects, acquisitions, dispositions on projects assigned.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures and guidelines are complied with in a professional manner and are demonstrated in all oral and written communications.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.
